"As seen in Playboy"… Yes, it's true! this Land Rover appeared in the June 2000 issue of Playboy. When Bill Turpie of Reno, NV. bought the D90 used in San Francisco he hadn't a clue what he was in for, to say the least. We had the opportunity to become great friends with Bill, and help him modify his Land Rover to suit him and his future adventures.

Left: As Seen in Playboy, June 2000. Photo was taken in Prozac Canyon during a "Off-Road Experience" event, where Bill normally brings up the rear of the convoy.

Left: July 1999 on the Black Rock Desert (NV) while re-tracing the Applegate-Lassen Trail, Bill & Bev hammer their way north.

The D90 is now in its latest guise; note the twin fuel fillers, air tank / steps / protectors.
Left: Stopped near "Haystack Butte" on the Applegate-Lassen Trial 1999, during an Off-Road Experience event.

Note the lights and wheels on the custom built  camper trailer. The rear bumper is of special importance (see Hitch), as it once towed a Jeep out of trouble in Moab!

Left: On the road again… or should we say "off"? Once again scouting roads and setting waypoints for the NEVADA TROPHY, Bill Turpie and the "GOAT", as it's called, is always ready to play or work!
Left: All British Car Meet, Palo Alto, CA., Sept 1999… Turp's D90 never looked so good!

Note: off-road camping trailer.
Left: "ORE's Bill Turpie hammers the "dust road", July 10, 1999.
